EU TEMPUS JOINT PROJECT "DIMTEGU - DEVELOPMENT AND INTRODUCTION OF MULTILINGUAL TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAMS AT UNIVERSITIES OF GEORGIA AND UKRAINE" AIMED TO SUPPORT THE REFORMS IN THE SPHERE OF MULTILINGUAL EDUCATION IN GEORGIA AND UKRAINE.

PROJECT ACTIVITIES & OUTCOMES
Activity 1: Prepare the HEI faculty of Georgia and Ukraine to apply modern pedagogical methods
Outcomes and outputs:
60 faculty members of the departments of education, humanities, linguistics, psychology, political science of targeted universities trained and prepared to develop modern syllabi.
Module I: Teaching methods
Module II: Development of syllabus
Module III: Multilingual/Multicultural Education
Activity 2: Prepare HEIs of Georgia and Ukraine to deliver modern BA and MA teacher education programs. Pilot and introduce these programs
Outcomes and outputs:
Frame curriculum, courses, syllabi and teaching materials for BA and MA teacher education programs in multilingual and international education in targeted universities of Georgia and Ukraine.
Study tours in Germany, Latvia and Lithuania for the faculty of Georgian and Ukrainian universities.
Moodle platform for BA and MA teacher education programs in multilingual and international education.
60 BA and 40 MA students of Georgia and Ukraine benefited from the project.
Activity 3: Prepare and conduct teacher professional development program.
Outcomes and outputs:
400 in-service teachers of Georgian and Ukrainian public schools qualified to apply modern pedagogical methods and meet the demand of globalization and local community.
Module I: Bilingualism and bilingual education principles; Content and Language Integrated Learning. Module II: Foundations of Multilingualism and Multilingual Education; Content and Language Integrated Teaching.
Activity 4: Equip HEIs with sufficient, up to dated teaching materials and equipment
Outcomes and outputs:
Libraries equipped with computers and modern teaching materials in targeted universities to implement effectively BA and MA teacher education programs in multilingual and international education.
12 textbooks on multilingual, international and intercultural education, linguistics and psychology translated in Georgian and Ukrainian languages.

International e-Journal of Multilingual Education (IJME) - by 2016: 8 volumes; 54 articles.
