On December 20, in order to promote gender equality in education, the Center for Civil Integration and Inter-ethnic Relations held an event at the Ministry of Education and Science, where the schools participating in the video competition "Gender Responsive Pedagogy", were awarded. Within the event, one of the video clips, participating in the competition, was presented to the audience.
The purpose of the mentioned competition was to promote the introduction of gender-responsive and stereotype-free teaching in the educational system. Within the framework of the "Gender-oriented teaching for equal educational opportunities" project, 97 Georgian schools have already started working to promote gender equality and eliminate stereotypes in the direction of training teachers and raising awareness among students.
The hosts of the event were: Tamar Makharashvili - First Deputy of Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Shalva Tabatadze - head of the Center for Civil Integration and Inter- ethnic Relations (CCIIR), Lika Sidamonidze - UN Women Project Manager, Natia Gorgadze - program director of the Center for Civil Integration and Inter - ethnic Relations, who spoke about the main tasks and goals of the project.
The winning schools/students in the "Gender Responsive Pedagogy" competition were awarded with photo cameras, certificates and other souvenirs as a symbol of presenting the best videos.
The event was held within the framework of the project "Gender-balanced education for equal educational opportunities", which is implemented by the Center for Civic Integration and Inter - ethnic Relations (CCIIR).The project is part of the program “EU 4 Gender Equality: Together against gender stereotypes and gender-based violence", funded by the European Union, implemented jointly by UN Women and UNFPA.
