On July 14-15, 2011, two day international conference “Issue of State Language Teaching - Problems and Challenges” in Sheraton Batumi Hotel took place. The conference was organized by the faculty of Humanities of Tbilisi Javakhishvili State University of Georgia and the Centre for Civil Integration and Inter-Ethnic Relations.
The conference was organized through financial support of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation. The conference was dedicated to the issues of state language teaching, problems, experience and contemporary challenge and aimed at an informing of audience and participants on recent achievements of foreign countries in linguistic field as well as share experience on gathered experience of Georgian specialists with colleagues.
Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini; Deputy Minister Nodar Sulguladze, Deputy Minister of education of Armenia; General Director of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation Sulkhan Sisauri; Minister of Education, Culture and Sports of Achara Gia Abuladze were attended the conference as special guests. Representatives of HEIs of Georgia, academic personnel, teachers as well as international guests Switzerland, Turkey, Estonia, Latvia, German and representatives of Center for Civil Integration and Inter-Ethnic Relations were actively involved in working process of the conference.
The abstracts and articles had been presented at the conference will be published in Georgian and English languages and circulated among the interesting society in Georgia and abroad.. The issues presented at the conference details can be found at this link:
