CCIIR started implementation of two new projects from December 2009. The Project “Supporting non-Georgian schools in multilingual educational reform" is funded by Eurasia Partnership Foundation in the framework of the Integration and Tolerance Program of United Nations Association of Georgia (UNAG) . The following activities will be implemented in the framework of the project:
(a) Development Recommendations Package to reflect intercultural education in school curricula, assessment system and textbooks;
(b) Translation of Colin Baker’s Textbook “The Foundations of Bilingual Education and Bilingualism”;
(c) Development of Teacher’s Practical Guide on Intercultural Education;
(d) Retraining of 80 teacher’s of 40 bilingual pilot schools in bilingual and intercultural education teaching strategies
The second project “Protecting minority educational rights through bilingual education” is funded by European Commission.. The project aims at:
a) development bilingual teacher’s guide for primary schools by Georgian and Latvian experts;
b)Development training program for teachers by Georgian and Latvian experts;
c) Training of multipliers on bilingual education;
d) Training of bilingual teacher’s of all non-Georgian schools;
